THE 2019 AWARD
MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- Jim Crutchfield, coach at Nova Southeastern, is the 2018-19 recipient of the Jack Bennett Award, which represents winning with integrity and is named in honor of the former head coach at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
After a long, successful tenure at West Liberty, Crutchfield took over the Nova program two years ago and started building a winning tradition. Nova was 29-4 this season won a Division II regional and advanced to the Elite 8.
In 15 seasons, Crutchfield, a two-time national coach of the year, has won 84 percent of his games as a head coach.
Bennett won five Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles, made five NCAA tournament appearances and won two national championships. He’s the program’s all-time winningest coach with a 200-56 record. In 34 seasons as head coach he compiled a record of 480-175.
